Presents at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS-December 21, 2007-Seno Medical Instruments, Inc.,<\/strong>\u00a0a San Antonio company engaged in the development of medical devices held a reception at La Villita Arts Village to honor leadership and program participants of the 30th annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS).<\/p>\n<p>The SABCS provided state-of-the-art information on the experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of breast cancer and premalignant breast disease to an international audience of academic and private physicians and researchers. Last year the attendees numbered over 9000 and represented 83 countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs one out of every two deaths in women in the U.S. is due to breast cancer, Seno is excited to be part of the SABCS community as we continue in making advancements in conquering cancer\u201d, said Janet Campbell, Seno Medical CEO. \u201cSeno is honored to host a number of distinguished guests and physicians from across the world during the symposium\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the SABCS program, Seno presented two poster sessions on its patented opto-acoustic technology: \u201cInitial Clinical Evaluation of Laser Opto-acoustic Imaging System for Diagnostic Imaging of Breast Cancer\u201d and \u201cMolecular Imaging in the Mouse Model of Breast Cancer based on Optical Illumination &amp; Ultrasonic Detection\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the conference, Seno announced the introduction of its\u00a0<i>Imagio\u2122<\/i>\u00a0research device, a new platform technology using opto-acoustics for small animal functional imaging. Seno\u2019s break through technology was recognized by the State of Texas in August when the company received a $2 million investment by the Texas Emerging Technology Fund.<\/p>\n<p>At Seno\u2019s reception, guests had the pleasure of listening to a number of distinguished speakers. Speakers included\u00a0<strong>Dr. Robert Kramer<\/strong>, founding member of the\u00a0<strong>Susan G. Komen Advisory Board<\/strong>\u00a0and a member of the Seno Scientific Advisory Committee as well as State\u00a0<strong>Representative Joe Straus<\/strong>\u00a0who represents the San Antonio community in the Texas Legislature.<\/p>\n<p>Representative Straus said, \u201cSeno\u2019s breakthrough technology promises breast cancer patients will be able to receive better diagnosis and treatment.
